Data Analysis and Modeling in QGIS

Background of the thesis

For every problem solving, developing a conceptual model about that problem is the first and the most important step. A conceptual model investigates a given question/problem in a precise and scientific way. It discusses the effective parameters on a phenomena/problem and their importance. Using this conceptual model it is possible to weight and model the available data sets from simple overlay method to more complex methods as Machine Leaning approaches.

GeoServer is an open source server for sharing geospatial data. Designed for interoperability, it publishes data from any major spatial data source using open standards. GeoServer implements industry standard Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) protocols such as Web Feature Service (WFS), Web Map Service (WMS), and Web Coverage Service (WCS). Additional formats and publication options are available as extensions including Web Processing Service (WPS), and Web Map Tile Service (WMTS). (http://geoserver.org/, Wiki.)

For this research the data set of the Web Map Service (WMS) Germany, Hamburg Port, are used.
